Psychotherapy has been the big love of my life.
I love people. I am fascinated by what happens between people, by how a person manifests his/her most personal individuality through connection. How can a person get more in touch with themselves? How do we connect with others across differences? How do we become more resilient? These are the themes I explore with clients. With all the love I have I invite individuals and couples to experiment with new ways of being and move towards their own answers. I strive to instill hope and create a space for a fuller and more fulfilling life.

Increasingly, I can use my clinical experience and knowledge to support fellow psychotherapists in their work. How to integrate different approaches or models? How to deal with complex situations or clients who “push your buttons”? In trainings and supervisions, I enjoy coaching colleague psychotherapists to find their own power.

Needless to say, ongoing professional development is a must for me. I hanker after deepening and meaning making as a therapist and as a human being. I read, study, and continuously develop myself. Interpersonal Neurobiology (Dan Siegel) is the model that mainly inspires me now.

Naturally, there are many other things that interest and nurture me. Movement and particularly dance (Open Floor & 5 Rhythms) is an unfailing source of Joy and connection with Love. I love to spend time in nature in my garden in Hoegaarden, where I live, or hiking, running, or biking in the fields. To fulfill my need for adventure I like to travel to faraway places, discover diverse cultures, meet different folks. Maybe our paths will cross one day.
Guest on the Symfotrip podcast: listen to it here (Dutch)

In our podcast series Symfotrip, we take you on a musical journey through a piece that will soon be featured in the Brussels Philharmonic's program. Host Jasper Croonen and a special guest explore the music together, providing you with helpful tips to understand the notes. This time, we dive into Béla Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra, a clever interplay of pairs, also known as giuoco delle coppie.
Liesbet Plissart, a couples therapist, certainly knows a great deal about antics of couples. She discovers the music for the first time during this episode, with Jasper Croonen as her guide through the impressive score.
